Tongue Twister Challenge

How to Play: There are a few ways you can play with tongue twisters in class. Usually, I’ll teach the students one, allow them to practice on their own, and then in teams they must recite the tongue twister as many times as possible (you can have one person per team go each round, or have them take turns saying it until somebody makes a mistake).

Other Tips/Alternatives: I like to make a big show out of reciting the tongue twisters because it always ends in laughs. After doing this with a few different tongue twisters, I’ll then have the students make their own tongue twisters (usually with smaller groups because there’s more time). You can give them specific words to use or have them come up with them on their own. Another fun alternative for private lessons is to have everybody (including the teacher) write down three words that start with the same letter. Then you pass it to the other person and they have to create a tongue twister using those words.
